Message to the Community
"I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can."
"I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no 'brief candle' for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

Team MAD (Making A Difference) is on the move. Our organization continues to develop, and our reputation as a quality charity continues to grow dramatically. Since 2006 we have had over 160 runners cross the finish line while raising 100 thousand dollars. We take great pride in the rich diversity of our runnerswho range in age from 18 to 65 years, are of numerous ethnic origins, and function at all fitness levelsto run, learn, and raise money together.
Team MAD provides a voice that gets the message of hope out to the community. It shows that everyday peoplefamily, friends, friends of friends, neighbors, and strangersare capable of coming together to build a community that sees the strength in all humans and supports their needs.
Our story started in 2006 with a group of runners and friends who shared a common belief that many worthy charities in Connecticut were in need of support. Our philosophy is twofold: we strive to provide our runners with the tools necessary to complete a marathon, and we want to give back to our community. This organization was founded by runners, so we do our best to give them as much support as possible. They are the ones who commit endless hours to training, sacrifice time away from family and friends, and put their indefatigable spirit into this process.
At the same time, we focus on a new charity every year to help fund essential human services and programs. One hundred percent of our donations goes to the charity we choose.
Please join us today and help make Team MAD even better.
